The Legal Services Advisory Committee (LSAC) makes grants to legal services and alternative dispute resolution programs serving low-income clients from funds appropriated by the Legislature and a portion of attorney registration fees. LSAC is governed by Minnesota Statutes 480.242. This legislative appropriation funds organizations serving every county in Minnesota, representing over 50,000 low-income clients statewide in 2008.
