Supreme Court Welcomes Comments on Proposed Amendments to General Rules of Practice and Commitment Rules

The Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the General Rules of Practice for the District Courts has proposed changes to: (1) the General Rules of Practice relating to pro hac vice, interpreters, comparable means of service and filing, forms, party addresses, contempt in family cases, conciliation court, and grand jury transcripts; and (2) the Special Rules of Procedure Governing Proceedings Under the Commitment and Treatment Act Rules relating to interactive television (ITV) use.  This Court will consider the proposed changes without a hearing after soliciting and reviewing comments on the proposed changes.

Any individual wishing to provide statements in support of or in opposition to the proposed rules should submit 12 copies in writing addressed to Frederick Grittner, Clerk of Appellate Courts, 305 Minnesota Judicial Center, 25 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St Paul, MN, 55155, no later than Monday, November 9, 2009.
