Mandatory eFile and eServe Expands

Effective September 16, 2013, eFiling and eService will be mandatory for all general civil cases and family court cases in district courts in the following counties: Cass, Clay, Cook, Dakota, Faribault, Kandiyohi, Lake, Morrison,and Washington.  eFiling and eService in these cases have been mandatory in the district courts in Hennepin and Ramsey counties since September 1, 2012.

Attorneys representing parties in these cases and government attorneys appearing in such cases must eFile and eServe documents in the 11 counties listed above as required under the Minnesota General Rules of Practice and the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure

Civil cases include Examiner of Title cases, but exclude Probate/Mental Health and Conciliation Court case types.

Family court cases include Annulments, Custody, Dissolutions with Children, Dissolutions without Children, Domestic Abuse, Family Other, Legal Separation, Paternity, Separate Maintenance, Summary Dissolution, Support, and Transfers of Legal Custody. The requirement does not apply to Child Protection or Adoption cases.
