Welcome to the 4th Judicial District of Minnesota

The State of Minnesota's 87 counties are organized into 10 Judicial Districts. The 4th Judicial District includes only Hennepin County. It is the state's largest trial court, handling over 550,000 cases in 2013. Judge Kevin Burke Receives Merit Award
Fourth Judicial District Judge Kevin Burke received the Chief Justice Richard W. Holmes Award of Merit at the American Judges Association luncheon earlier this month. The award is given to a judge for outstanding contributions to the judiciary. "It was a pretty cool thing that caught me completely off guard," said Judge Burke.

Change in Court Procedure for Guardians and Conservators
Notice: Effective July 15, 2014, Probate Court Administration will no longer send a reminder to guardians or conservators or send them the "Notice and Order to Proceed" for failure to file timely reports in their appointed cases. Instead, Court Administration will send a "Notice to File or Appear" at 31 days past due with a scheduled hearing date, which can be canceled if required documents are filed before the hearing. » Read the full Notice for details.
