Welcome to the 4th Judicial District of Minnesota
The State of Minnesota has 10 Judicial Districts, with specific counties belonging to each District. The 4th Judicial District serves only Hennepin County, and is the state's largest trial court, receiving nearly 800,000 cases each year. Notice
Effective January 2, 2008, walk-in counter and telephone services close to the public at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays to allow court staff to complete necessary case processing, filing and other administrative functions. This change in court hours does NOT affect Hennepin County services (probation, driver's licenses, tax payments, etc.) All court appearances and trials continue as scheduled on Wednesday afternoons. All District Court offices have limited service hours on Wednesday afternoons. Drop boxes for filings or payments by check are available at all locations.
Court users will no longer be able to pay traffic tickets in person, see a hearing officer, request copies of court files or receive information about cases via telephone on Wednesday afternoons at all locations.
Public computers are available for record searches during regular business hours, except for Wednesdays 1:30-4:30 p.m. The court will no longer conduct criminal record checks for the public. Some court records can be viewed online through the MNCIS Public Access (MPA) website. NOTE: Pre-conviction data is only available at courthouse terminals.
