Criminal Court Filing Statistics

In 2018, the total number of Criminal Court filings was 421,519. Criminal Court filings have been relatively stable between 2015 and 2018.


 

Felony Filings

The total number of filings were up significantly in 2018 compared to 2015 and 2016. However, the number of felony filings in 2018 was remarkably similar to 2017.


 

Non-Felony Filings

In total, non-felony filings (Gross Misdemeanors, Misdemeanors, and Petty Misdemeanors) were up in 2018 compared to 2017. Gross Misdemeanor filings fell between 2017 and 2018, while Misdemeanor and Petty Misdemeanor filings increased. 


 

Non-Felony Filings, by Division

When breaking out the number of non-felony filings by the division in which the cases were filed, between 2017 and 2018 there was a increase in the number of filings Downtown, Brookdale, and Division 4, while non-felony filings in Ridgedale increased slightly. All divisions had fewer non-felony filings in 2018 compared to 2015.
