Court Interpreter Program Announcement

Posted: Tuesday, October 11, 2022

This message is being sent to all court interpreters on the state roster, those who work regularly for the district courts and interpreter agencies, or those who are active on the existing Minnesota Judicial Branch interpreter database.

Announcing Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO)

As a contract interpreter you may have used the Minnesota Public Access (MPA) site to search for basic information about upcoming court assignments. MPA has been replaced with the improved and more user-friendly Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO). Like MPA, MCRO allows you to search for case information using the case number found in your IRMA work request. But MCRO also provides online access to many public Minnesota state district court records and documents, allowing you to search for and retrieve public court documents without having to go to a court facility or the State Law Library.

Visit the MCRO page on the Minnesota Judicial Branch website to learn more. Many helpful training materials and frequently asked questions are posted. You can also sign up to receive updates and notices about future training opportunities on use of the MCRO.

NOTE: Some public Minnesota district court case types are not available online and in MCRO, even though they are publicly accessible, according to the Minnesota Rules of Public Access. These public case types need to be viewed at a public access terminal in a Minnesota courthouse or at the State Law Library. This handout provides more detail.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Polly
