Minnesota Supreme Court Announces Vacancies on the Rules of Public Access Committee

The Minnesota Supreme Court is seeking candidates to fill multiple vacancies on the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch. Citizens, members of the media, lawyers, judges, court staff, and other justice system partners interested in court record public access policy are encouraged to apply.
 
The committee oversees the courts’ public access rules and will be reviewing the rules of access in light of the Supreme Court’s order regarding use of the Minnesota Digital Exhibit System in the Minnesota District and Appellate Courts. The committee plans to meet monthly and must issue its report and recommendations by December 1, 2025.  Membership term limits have not been established but a commitment of at least one year is desired.
 
Individuals interested in becoming a member of the committee should send a letter of interest and a curriculum vitae to Christa Rutherford-Block, Clerk of Appellate Courts, 305 Minnesota Judicial Center, 25 Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155 or via email to mjcappellateclerkofcourt@courts.state.mn.us. Email applications are preferred. Applications must be received no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, November 1st, 2024.
