Tenth District Parent Education Information

Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington and Wright Counties

Pursuant to Minn. Stat.§ 518.157, parents involved in contested custody or parenting time cases, regardless of whether a marriage relationship exists, must complete a minimum of 8 hours of parent education. In all other proceedings involving custody, support, or parenting time, the court has discretion to order the parents to attend a parent education program.   Unless otherwise ordered by the court, parents must begin participation in a parent education program before the Initial Case Management Conference and within 30 days after the first filing in the case or as soon as practicable given the availability of classes.
