Judge Juan G. Hoyos

Appointed by Governor Mark Dayton on Sept. 8, 2014. Elected in 2016 and 2022. Current term expires December 31, 2028.

Bio:

Judge Hoyos earned his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He also graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School. Judge Hoyos has a broad background in criminal law, as both a prosecutor and public defender in Ramsey County, handling serious felony cases. Judge Hoyos resides in Minneapolis with his wife and two daughters.
