Your use of this official Minnesota Judicial Branch (MJB) social media account is your acceptance of these social media community terms of use and agreement to adhere to them.
Purpose of Minnesota Judicial Branch Official Social Media Account
The purpose of the MJB’s official social media accounts is to deliver messages directly to the public, provide civic education, and to encourage public involvement and engagement with MJB.
Limited Public Forum
The MJB’s official social media accounts are limited public forums.
Our social media accounts are governed by the general rules of respectful civil discourse. The MJB social media team monitors official Minnesota Judicial Branch accounts but is not responsible for content generated by users. The MJB requires users who choose to communicate on the MJB’s official social media accounts to adhere to the community terms of use.
As used herein, “Post(s)” includes, but is not limited to, user-generated content such as comments, questions, messages, and images.
The Minnesota Judicial Branch does not allow Posts or any content that:
- Is off-topic or irrelevant to the original content published.
- Includes any case-specific inquiries or comments regarding a court case or decision, pending or previously decided, before the Minnesota Judicial Branch of which you have any personal knowledge, that concerns potential evidence not currently admitted and accepted into evidence in the court case, or that in any way could affect the outcome of the case.
- Contains any non-public data as defined by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch.
- Is known to be false, misleading or fraudulent.
- Is profane, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, libelous, threatening, abusive, harassing, or incites or promotes violence or illegal activity.
- Promotes, endorses or opposes campaign activities for elected office.
- Communicates personal contact information of any person, including but not limited to address, phone number, or email address.
- Contains information that could reasonably compromise individual or public safety.
- Promotes, fosters, or perpetuates harassment or discrimination on the basis of any legally protected class of persons under federal and state laws.
- Solicits, promotes, or advertises a business or product, or proposes a commercial transaction.
- Infringes on patents, copyrights, trade secrets or trademarks.
By participating on any of the Minnesota Judicial Branch social media accounts, you are agreeing to abide by these community terms of use. We reserve the right to hide, remove or ignore posts that violate these community terms. Repeated or egregious violations of these community terms of use may result in the user being blocked from MJB’s social media accounts. We also reserve the right to turn off the ability to Post outside of court business or when the volume of Posts on a particular piece of content or on content in the aggregate becomes so voluminous it cannot be effectively monitored given MJB resources.
No Court Business
Please do not attempt to transact any court business using this social media account. For any court business needs, please refer to the MJB Public Website or contact your court administration directly (see Minnesota Judicial Branch Find Your Court).
