Access and Service Delivery Report Now Available

The Minnesota Judicial Council formed the Access and Service Delivery (ASD) Committee in 2008 to address current underfunding and the significant fiscal challenges in the future. The Committee's charge was to develop options for restructuring judicial delivery systems, redesigning business processes, expanding the use of technology, and prioritizing functions to provide appropriate levels of access to justice and services statewide at the lowest cost. A number of recommendations relating to the expansion of technology are being implemented.
A follow-up committee (ASD-2) was formed to study and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in five areas: 1) Judge Unit; (2) Subordinate Judicial Officers; (3) Structure & Governance; (4) Workflow Reengineering; and (5) Legislative and Judicial Policy Reform.
On Dec. 17, 2009, the ASD-2 Committee presented its findings and recommendations to the Judicial Council, the policy-making body for the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
