Advisory Committee to Hold Public Hearing on Recognition of Tribal Court Orders and Judgments: Hearing Submissions Now Available


The Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on General Rules of Practice has asked been asked by the Court to advise it regarding the recognition of tribal court orders and judgments. The recognition of tribal court orders and judgments is currently governed by Rule 10 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.

The advisory committee is specifically considering the Petition of Minnesota Tribal Court/State Court Forum to Amend Rule 10, filed November 30, 2016, and its accompanying Appendix. The committee has scheduled a public hearing for Friday, March 31, 2017, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Room 230 of the Judicial Center in St. Paul, to receive testimony on the matter from interested individuals.

The deadline for submitting comments to the advisory committee was Friday, March 17, 2017.  View comments submitted to the advisory committee.
