Are you ready to make a difference? Join a respected body that shapes the compensation framework for Minnesota’s highest public officials. Your insight and experience will help promote fairness, accountability, and competitiveness in the state’s public‑service workforce.
Why This Opportunity is Unique
- Direct influence on the careers of the state’s most important leaders – help set salaries for constitutional officers, Supreme Court justices, Court of Appeals judges, district court judges, and the heads of key state and metropolitan agencies.
- A council that balances expertise, independence, and diverse viewpoints – eight non‑judge members are chosen by the Chief Justice to bring a broad spectrum of perspectives.
- Current opening for a Republican‑affiliated non‑judge member – your appointment would help maintain the required political balance of no more than four members from any single party.
Who We’re Looking for
- The current opening is for a non-judge member affiliated with the Republican party.
- The individual appointed may not be a current or former judge, a current lobbyist registered under Minnesota law, a current state government employee, a current or former governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, or state auditor, or a current or former legislator or spouse of a current legislator.
- Availability to attendthree scheduled meetings beginning in June 2026 and to meet the September 1, 2026 deadline.
- A strong sense of public service and a commitment to fair and impartial compensation decisions.
