Mock Trial Champs Visit Supreme Court

Members of 2010 National Champion High School Mock Trial Team from the Breck School in Golden Valley visited with Minnesota Supreme Court Justices June 3 at the Minnesota State Historic Capitol Courtroom in St. Paul. They are the first team from Minnesota to win the national competition.
The justices congratulated the team, took questions and asked a few of their own. After photos were taken, the group briefly retired to the Supreme Court Capitol Conference Room for a look behind the bench. Chief Justice Magnuson provided an overview of the Court's oral argument process. Family and friends of the students were also in attendance.
District Court Judges James Dehn and Dale Mossey travelled to Philadelphia to serve as volunteer judges for the competition. Many Minnesota judges participate throughout the Mock Trial season as coaches, advisors and judges.
