Numerous Phone Scams Reported


The Minnesota Judicial Branch has learned of phone scams where recipients are receiving calls regarding jury service, unpaid fines, and missed court dates. The public should be aware that the calls are not coming from the Minnesota Judicial Branch.

Jury Service

Residents and prospective jurors from Olmsted, Rice, Dakota, and Ramsey counties have reported receiving a phone message stating that they failed to return a jury summons and were instructed to call 612-216-6287. Someone named Angel answered the phone and started asking probing questions.   

Prospective jurors in Scott County have reported being contacted by someone saying there was a warrant out for their arrest. The phone number the calls came from is 952-607-7895 and the caller identified himself as Major Paul Stevens, Badge 7612.   

Unpaid Fines

A person has reported getting a call from someone claiming they were with Morrison County District Court. The caller stated that fines were due for several outstanding tickets. Morrison County District Court does not request fines by phone.

Missed Court Date 

A person has reported getting a call from someone claiming they were with Morrison County District Court. The caller stated that a court date had been missed and a fine payment was necessary to avoid a warrant. Morrison County District Court does not request fines by phone.
