Robert C. Friday Appointed to Fill Sixth Judicial District Vacancy


Governor Mark Dayton today announced the appointment of Robert C. Friday as a District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District. Mr. Friday will be replacing the Honorable Terrence M. Aronson, and will be chambered at Virginia in St. Louis County.
 
“Mr. Robert Friday has a strong record of legal service on behalf of Minnesotans, working hard throughout his career to deliver justice to those in need,” said Governor Dayton. “I thank Mr. Friday for agreeing to continue his service to the public as a District Court Judge for Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District.”
 
Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District consists of Carlton, Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties.

About Robert C. Friday
Mr. Friday is the Director of Advocacy at Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota, where he manages the legal work of the firm, represents indigent clients in family law and juvenile court matters, and provides legal education throughout the community. Previously, he was a Client Services Manager at United Health Care, a small business owner, a solo practitioner, and an Associate Attorney at Lindquist & Vennum. He earned his B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College and his J.D., magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review.
 
Mr. Friday is a member of the Consolidated Block Grant Advisory Board, Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, Iron Range Bar Association, is the President of the Range Transitional Housing Board of Directors and has worked closely with the Volunteer Attorney Program in Duluth.
