Supreme Court Appoints New Director to Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility

Jorgensen began his service with Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility in 1982 and has served as the First Assistant Director since 1993. He has taught professional responsibility and other subjects at William Mitchell College of Law, the University of Minnesota Law School and Hamline University School of Law and has served frequently as Continuing Legal Education faculty in Minnesota and other states. Jorgensen is the author of numerous publications and articles on professional responsibility.
Jorgensen graduated cum laude from what was Mankato State University in Mankato, MN, in 1981, and received his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1984.
The Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility is a Minnesota Supreme Court agency that investigates and prosecutes complaints alleging unprofessional conduct of Minnesota attorneys It also provides training on professional responsibility and legal ethics for attorneys. The Minnesota Client Security Board compensates victims of lawyer theft. The Board uses the administrative services of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility to receive, investigate and handle claims filed with the Client Security Fund.
