The Honorable Jennifer Frisch Appointed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals


Today, Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan announced the appointment of Assistant Chief Judge Jennifer Frisch to the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Judge Frisch will fill the vacancy occurring upon the retirement of Chief Judge Edward J. Cleary. This seat is designated for Minnesota’s Fourth Congressional District.

About Assistant Chief Judge Jennifer Frisch

Judge Frisch currently serves as the Assistant Chief Judge in the Second Judicial District, where she presides over civil and criminal matters. Previously, Judge Frisch served as Senior Associate General Counsel at the University of Minnesota, where she represented the University as trial and appellate counsel in state and federal courts. Her community involvement has included serving as Chair of the Equal Justice Committee for the Second Judicial District and various statewide committees, teaching legal writing and moot court at the University of Minnesota Law School, coaching and judging collegiate and high school mock trial, and teaching English language learner classes at Neighborhood House.

Judge Frisch earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Macalester College and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.
