  • Link technology for judges throughout the state; and
  • Enhance the public’s trust and confidence in the courts.

“Wendy will be a valuable asset to the Judicial Branch,” said Chief Justice Kathleen A. Blatz.  “The public and Minnesota courts will benefit from the wealth of government and communications experience she brings.”

Prior to joining the Minnesota Supreme Court, Burt, who is an accredited public relations professional, was a public relations consultant for businesses and organizations.  From 1997-2000, Burt was the spokesperson for the Metropolitan Airports Commission.  She was a presidential appointee in the Clinton Administration from 1993-1997, serving in the public affairs offices at the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Defense.  Burt was the Communications Director in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office where she worked from 1984-1989.  She was a journalism and political science graduate of the University of St. Thomas.  In May 2001, Burt was named one of “Forty Under 40” young business leaders by the Business Journal of the Twin Cities, formerly called CityBusiness.
