Winona, Minn. (Nov. 4, 2026) – Winona County District Court and the Winona County Criminal Justice Coordinating Counsel will host a Warrant Resolution Event in Courtroom 2 of the Winona County Courthouse from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12.
The event allows anyone with an outstanding Winona County misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor warrant to meet with justice system officials and take steps to resolve their cases without fear of arrest.
No appointment is necessary but attendees should be prepared to discuss their case and allow enough time to determine next steps with the court. Attendees also will be able to speak with public defenders, and court interpreters will be available if interpretation is needed.
“This event is about removing barriers, encouraging individuals to address outstanding legal matters, and helping people move forward,” said Third Judicial District Chief Judge Christine Long. Winona County is in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District.
Warrants only will be recalled during the event; they will not be expunged. Recalling a warrant does not erase the underlying criminal case, dismiss charges, or remove a criminal record.
Attendees should not assume their criminal charges automatically will be dismissed or that attending the event resolves every outstanding obligation associated with their case.
Felony warrants and warrants issued by other counties do not qualify for this event.
