Reporting Instructions

First DayPlease report to the Waseca County Court Administrator’s Office at the time provided by the jury line instructions. Court administration staff will take attendance, conduct a brief orientation, and show an informational video about jury duty. Jury selection will proceed as ordered by the court. Cell phones are allowed in the jury room; however, they are not allowed in the courtroom. If possible, please leave your cell phones in your vehicle.

Second and Subsequent Days: If you are a seated juror, please follow the instructions provided by the judge presiding over the case.

Postponements/Emergencies/Excusals

To better accommodate prospective jurors’ work and personal schedules, jurors may request a postponement of their jury duty to a more convenient date. Jury Management will grant only one postponement request per juror. If you are unable to report for jury duty as instructed due to an illness or emergency, please contact Court Administration as soon as possible. Please contact Court Administration at your earliest convenience if you have a doctor’s appointment, planned vacation, or a legitimate excuse for the absence so we can temporarily pull your name from the jury list.
