Minnesota Voters Alliance, et al., Petitioners, vs. City of Minneapolis, Respondent, Casey Carl, in his official capacity as City Clerk of the City of Minneapolis, Respondent – Case No. A26-0997: This matter involves an election dispute brought directly before the supreme court under Minn. Stat. § 204B.44. Petitioners Minnesota Voters Alliance and Dianne Napper filed a petition asking the supreme court “for an Order directing Respondent City of Minneapolis to appoint and assign party-balanced election judges, as required by Minnesota law, to staff its polling places during the 18-day in-person early voting period leading up the 2026 general election.” Petitioners on the one hand, and the City of Minneapolis and Secretary of State on the other, disagree as to whether election judges are required under the early voting procedure statute, Minn. Stat. § 203B.30.
